Community Gets Involved in FLCC Design
If you had a chance to read our article in NYSSBA’s On Board newspaper (also posted on our website), you already know that part of being a Landscape Architect is engaging with the community about the improvement projects happening in their area. AOLA Partner, Tim Bonaparte, recently kicked off design with Finger Lakes Community College (FLCC) for their new athletic fields, and a public meeting was held Tuesday, August 22, to field any inquiries the community had about the project. Tim presented preliminary design ideas and addressed concerns from neighbors regarding storm water runoff. He discussed storm water management options and explained that the schematic design process explores these options and what will work best for the site at FLCC. He also noted that the storm water management design will be in compliance with county and NYSDEC policies. We appreciate the community getting involved and taking an interest in the project!
