Le Moyne College Renames Turf Complex and Opens Softball Stadium
Le Moyne College celebrated many exciting events this past weekend as part of their homecoming festivities. Two projects designed by Appel Osborne Landscape Architecture, their lacrosse/soccer synthetic turf field complex and new softball facility, were the center of some of the weekend’s events. A dedication ceremony was held for the renaming of their turf complex, which was completed in 2010. The facility is now known as “Ted Grant Field” in honor of a 1951 graduate of the college who is an enthusiastic supporter of Le Moyne’s lacrosse program and longtime benefactor. The facility is an important piece of Le Moyne’s athletic complex and is used by the men’s and women’s lacrosse and soccer teams, as well as by other school teams. Grant was also inducted into the Le Moyne Gold Wave Hall of Fame as an honorary member. Another exciting event for the school and their athletic program was the ribbon cutting for their new softball complex. The facility includes a stadium, dugouts, fencing, scoreboard and manicured grass field. Appel Osborne is honored to be a part of these advancements for the college’s athletic program.
